The One That Got Away

A few months ago Asos Curve had this amazingly romantic 60's prom dress. I instantly fell in love. At the time I could not spend nearly $300 bucks on a single dress. I began to cyber stalk the cite on a regular basis just to be sure that the dress was still available, in case my financial situation improved. Eventually the dress went on sale and I contemplated buying it for an entire day. The next day I went to make my purchase and to my dismay, it was SOLD OUT!!! As a performing vocalist, this would have been an ideal dress for late summer/ fall engagements. I envisioned it with a sweet nude cropped swing cardigan, chocolate tights, and chocolate suede pumps.

Because of the impeccable 60's fashion in Eve's Bayou it ranks as one of my most favorite movies. Not having watched it in a while, my best friend and I concluded our girls day out by viewing this  motion picture. When the character Roz Batiste, played by Lynn Whitfield appeared on screen wearing a very similar look, I literally screamed "My dress, my dress!!!" Of course this sighting only made me want that dress all the more.

Wear The Wild Things Are

Liquid Top: Lane Bryant/ Skirt: Custom / Jessica Simpson "Cornelia" Boot: Macys
I've been called and have gladly called myself gaudy on more than one occasion. What can I say, I love extravagance, glitz, bells, and whistles. I'd like to think that as I walk on the wilder side I don't sacrifice taste, maintaining a ferocious finesse. Let's face it, animal prints can come across as cheap and tacky. For this reason, these prints have long been my guilty pleasure. Although, I love, love, love them, I often find myself trying to explain or justify my infatuation with them. In fact,  a month ago I actually  agreed to quit animal prints. The plan was to wear the items I already own, but refrain from making new purchases. I barely made it into the next week. It's safe to say, there will be no taming of the beast, and that's fine!

Uncharted Territory

I've been wavering back and forth about creating this blog, mainly because anyone and everyone is blogging these days. Because of the plethora of blogs on plus size fashion, I wonder if  anyone will even read or gain anything from my chronicles of belting the bulge? I don't know. I'll just have to test the waters.

Speaking of waters,  (great segue I know) I recently returned from my very first cruise to the Bahamas! Here are a few looks from my trip. As you will come to see I love a sparkle and an animal print!
